I have a Beach Cities Scuba(multiple locations) gift certificate value of $182.00 It was given to my 14 year old daughter after she was severely injured. She was in the middle of her scuba certification class. She may never be able to scuba dive or a least not for a very long time, and thus can not use it. I tried to get the store to return the certificate for money, even less money but they would not. I am hoping that someone would want this certificate for $150. If you need scuba stuff anyway why not save $32 and make my daughter really happy. :yes4:

Hey Laurence,

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Was it a diving-related injury? If you don't mind me asking, what happened to her? How far into her cert was she? Did she make it to open water? What agency? I think beach cities is PADI? Also isn't the dive shop in Laguna owned by beach cities? There's not too much more gear I need since I have doubles of everything, even triples. I'm sure that somebody will pick this up, if I had the cash right now I would buy it. Its enough for about 36 airfills. Sorry to hear about your daughter.

Well the issue is, at least in NAUI, instructors are required to have insurance in case their students get injured. It's a freakin' arms and a leg! NAUI is PO'd with me because I won't pay them...but I mean I'm not actively teaching, so what's the point?

Also, make sure to look into purchasing D.A.N. insurance. Best $70 you could spend on diving! I've know plenty of people who would be broke today had they not had that insurance. Top of the line piece of mind for sure!

Sorry if I was not clear. Her accident was not diving related in any way. She had completed her pool and book portion of her open water course and we were going on vacation to Roatan this August to do her open water dives. That trip was cancelled. She had done her scuba classes at Sport Chalet, but someone gave her a gift certificate after the accident to Beach Cities Scuba. Hope that clears it up and sorry for any confusion. Thank you for the good wishes.
