So not a great start to the year either. Lost a pyramid butterfly to a bacterial infection on the mouth. Was removed and treated but his mouth wouldn't recover. My potters angel is now showing signs of bacteria. I have been feeding garlic and another natural antibiotic, but they didn't work, but I hoped.

So should I take them all out and go fishless? Or can I just catch my angel and treat him?

My thought is to catch them all and go fishless. Then run a uv for a week. How long would it take for a bacteria to die off in a tank? Especially since I can't isolate the type of bacteria.

Any help is appreciated. As I don't want to lose my other fish.

Happy Reefing

is the potters still eating? i actually lost my potters to a bacterial infection, along with several others. it was post copper treatment and i was fallow and just had to cram a bunch of fish into smaller tanks and i think i got lazy on the water changes, water went poor, some vibrio probably snuck in. but what sucks is my potters stopped eating for a couple weeks before it died. i was at a loss for what to do not really suspecting bacteria, sucks to look back on

if u have cipro i find that to be the easiest abx to administer, you just give them a cipro bath for 90 min daily for 7 days iirc, i did it in a little jar that held about 1 gallon of water with a small heater and airstone. other than being caught the fish didn't seem to mind it

Hey everyone thanks for the advice. I got some pictures. Sorry they aren't the best as he is being shy. He is still eating also. Currently making water so I can set up the QT. I am hoping to have them all in QT tomorrow morning. As for Cipro do you just suggest chewy to get it? How do you measure it out?
