Polarization blocks or transmits light according to its polarization such as reflective water making it less glaring. Vs long pass filtering letting long wave length in and filter out short pass or smaller wavelength. Since snowboarding goggles are used to filter out blue from reflection from snow which is a shorter wavelength in the uv range. I'm sure snowboarding goggles have polarizing property to help with glare from bright light wether it be from the sun bouncing light off snow or from our tanks lights and water refraction from surface agitation.
