yesterday the wife and i took the skimmer and return pump out and did some cleaning but when i was putting the skimmer back in, it slipped out of my hand and broke my glass baffle in my sump. so now i am looking to replace my sump with something better and more accessible. the only catch is, is that my sump was built into the stand. there is no way of getting that out without cutting a part of my stand out to get it out. any one ever do something like this while your main tank is full of water? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Should be and easy fix..just get the measurement on the broken baffle and take it to a glass store and have them cut you a new piece. Remove the whole broken section(make sure you wear puncture proof gloves) and replace with new glass. Petco sell clear silicone or if theirs a grainier store near your house, they sell a momentive brand silicone that's safe...other then that removing and the replacing the whole sump is going to be a PIA...GL

ya that's not going to be good to cut anything on that i don't think. like they said drain it and slide stand away from wall if u can remove from back side. or fix it. lesson here is never have a sump you cant remove if needed.

I has a similar situation. Bottom line is you can't take anything out without removing a piece of support, your stand was not built to hold a full tank and rock and whatever else missing a piece of support. Sooooo you gotta empty the tank to remove a support. I would guess just te water, just buy something huge from honedepot enjoy tank into it, And return when done.

cam you drain the dt and slide it in through the back?
no, the back side looks like the front but with no doors.

i live in an apartment so to get something that will hold that much water will take my whole living room haha

could you go thru and cut the side panel and then make a door to cover the opening?
if i take the wood skin and moulding off there is 2 pieces of wood that would have to come out in order to replace.

what about breaking that one apart to remove and the slide in small 10 gallon tanks and connect them with bulkheads. if a 10g would fit that is.
