Finally decided to upgrade my 50gl to a 120 and broke it before even getting it inside the house.
I took the tank and put it on a few layers of towels outside to give it a wash of any dust from it being in my garage. I sprayed it down with water and wiped it clean, left it outside to dry, came out about 2 hours later to find a crack right down the middle of the back black panel.
The tank was on my driveway facing directly at the sun. There was no crack whatsoever when I was wiping it clean, but was there when I came out. I placed my hand on the black panel and it was extremely hot. The abrupt temperature change from spraying it with cold water and then being directly in the sun must of been too much. It was only about 90degrees up here today so I didn't even think about it.
The crack is hard to see but here it is

On a positive note, be glad you caught that crack before you got it in your house full of water! A tiny crack like that might not even leak water, and the just let loose all at once.

Man, I'm scared now, I just got a new frag tank and sump delivered yesterday, and it's sitting on my patio.
