Ed, looks like you are getting the hang of your camera and new macro lense. It's interesting how the Mandarin is one of the few fish that you can actually take good pix of because it's so darn slow :D Great shots......

Great shots Ed. I have been struggling with white balance when I shoot tank stuff. I can never find the right setting to keep stuff from going blue on me.

Thanks for the kind words everyone :D

lol, I've had the camera for quite a while now, but not only is the macro new, it's a totally different world. You're so right, I can't even get close to a good shot of my clowns or royal gramma. But Jerry and Grumpy pose nicely for me once in a while :)

Yup, that's his eye. You can see the eye on my blue spotted sea hare in my other macro thread. I've got all kinds of problem algaes  He's doing a good job on the hair, but doesn't touch the bubbles.

Thanks Dave, means alot coming from you. I'm still struggling with the WB myself. But shooting RAW helps, at least you can tweak it afterwards. I've got some ideas to try, if they work out I'll pass on the info :top:

Great shots Ed/ Obi Wan. :) Someday I will get these type of shots.
Thanks Luke ;) lol, j/k Brock. You're already almost there and you just got started. You'll get better shots than these in no time

I swear your mandrian looks like it's smiling. Nice Pix!
exactly what i was thinking.
He's a happy camper alright. Just got lucky on that shot, he usually isn't in mid pucker when I snap :)

Here's some more recent shots folks. They're not the greatest, I still haven't had time to properly setup with a tripod. But I'm getting some interesting effects even if it's not what I'm going for  :) And I just got a new monitor at home.....man do these look different on my work machine

Nice pics! What settings should I set my XTi to get a similar shot? I have the stock lens....so nothing special.

I can hook it up with lightroom ;)
