Specific Gravity

Ok my friend asked me about specific gravity cause he has an issue of it being around 1.028. So he asks me how does he lower it, and I did not know what to say cause never really had that problem.

So what should he do? lol

next time he does a water change, mix the salt @ a lower salinity.

you can remove some saltwater and add some freshwater to the tank

just make sure that you do this a little at a time.

1.028 is high, but not high enough to do anything drastic

If your saying that he doesn't top off with fresh water but only fills it up when he does his water changes then yes, that could contribute to the high sg. If his tank is evaporating water and is being refilled only by the salt water then the sg will slowely climb

when I first started salwater I topped off with saltwater, it was like the red sea in my tank, suprised anything survived
