After several failed attempts at running a sps system(due to my lack of knowledge) my lady an I decided to put together a softy and lps mixed reef that did not include a whole lot of gadgets to complicate things and just have a attractive mixed reef that was easy to maintian and diagnose if any problems were to come up. Well this is what we cam up with.

TANK
Solana 67xl low iron glass 48x18x18
30 Gal sump with 10 Gal fuge
Mag 12 return
2 mp10's for movement
Tek T5/LED retro
NAC 3.5 Skimmer
Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper Lite controller

FISH
Tiger pistol/Yellow watchmen Goby pair
4-Threadfin Cardinals
Semi picasso pair
Lepoard Wrasse
Yellow Corris Wrasse
Melanuras Wrasse
Lawnmower Blenny

We bought the tank, stand and sump off another forum. Here is what it looked like when we first got it home.

Mounted a shelf above the tank to keep books and misc crap and to hang the light from.

I then picked up about 70lbs of Fiji rock from LFS and began scaping. Used a $h!t load of zip ties and epoxy to hold both struxtures together. I was a pain to get the rock to stay together.

I covered the base of the tank with egg crate and dropped in both structures, i added a fiew pieces of rock here and there once it was in the tank.

Then it was time to add water and some sand and wait.

After tank cycled it was time to swap over live stock and more rock(for fuge) from are 20 long. Unfortunatly i dont have any pics of that time. But after all was moved over and let things settle for about a month i began adding more fish and coral to the mix. I also chaged out the orignal light i had been using for the T5/led retro im using now and added both mp10's to get where im at today.

Thanks for looking. As things mature and change i will be posting. Have a good one.

Nice tank and clean setup. U ever consider putting your mp10s on the side? Might not look as pretty, but I think they're designed to work that way. Might try it to help improve some flow.

Thats where i originaly had them, was causing too much direct flow on some corals. The flow from them now is ran through where the output flow is and causes really good random currents and now direct flow on corals. Is there any issues that i could expect with them being on the back pane?

Maybe dip the rock in hydrogen peroxide. I just learned that trick. I had different types of algae growing on some frags, and the hydrogen peroxide took care of it with just one dip. I love the Solana 67xl so much. I've been hoping one pops up for sale on one of the forums.
