sump/refuge help

i need help/suggestions/pics in building a sump wit fuge its for my hundred gal just dranned the tank to try and fit my spare 55gal but was 2-4 inches to long so im gonna buy a used 40 long or tall from tha lfs when i get up any help would be greatly apretiated thanks tha "simplier tha better"

Not sure if this design will be doable with the 40, but this was what I pretty much did with my 150 back then. Its gonna be a squeeze if you integrate a fuge.

Heres what mine looked like, when I had a 90g and didnt have room to put it under the tank.. lol

Here's a picture when i upgraded and now its under the tank... currently the middle section is holding my skimmer




haha man if it were only that clean right now..

if your not concerned about a fuge, you can just do a skimmer section and than an over under baffle to return. In a practical stand point you want to have as big of return section as possible to help with evaporation. Even with an ATO if you go away for a couple days that could run dry and cause problems. I like to keep my return area at 10+ gallons so I have some play room.

thanks scav that ones helpful,keep em coming i no u people got different designs it gonna have a protien skimmer and fuge like bwbixby said i need to have plenty of water in my retun area cuz were i live it hits 120 so room for evap is good if a leave for a few days
