The fight is on

I see my birds nest is losing the battle with another coral. Currently there is one tip that has turned white. Will this infect/effect the whole coral or just recede at that point?
Ever since I shut of my skimmer a couple of weeks ago. Things are going nuts.

better get that skimmer on. If they start waring things can get deadly for the entire tank

Some people run no skimmer but they increase there water changes.

Yeah. No skimmer. I thought it would force me to build an algae scrubber quicker, but it hasn't. I am buying the tank I plan on using tomorrow though. Hopefully have it done by the weekend.
So. Should I move one or the other corals or will they settle it on their own? Will the birds nest just stop growing in that one spot?
