Happy Holidays Fellow Reefers.

Going to be picking up a 150 gallon tank from someone on here. I’m sure many of you have purchased and moved a large tank. Wanted to get some tips and advice on how to make things easier. I have a truck, but was looking into suction cups and moving dollies. Let me know what you all did.

Tia.

Depends on the obstacles inside & outside their house & yours. Ask questions about steps, floors, yard, walk ways, alleys, hallways, driveways, etc. plan for those obstacles. Definitely some heavy duty straps, packing blankets, cardboard, gloves & some strong reliable friends. Dollies all depend on the floor & those obstacles.

Also, ask about plumbing. Know what you will be dealing with & take the necessary tools. Worse case scenario, everything needs to be cut off.

I used 4 suction cups from Amazon rated at 200+lbs each, 4 people, 2 dolleys from HF and some moving blankets.

With 4 people it was easy to lift tank on to dolleys, roll it as far as you can to the location you want. Lift onto stand and adjust as needed. Good luck!
