So yesterday I decide to change out the uv bulb on my 55w uv sterilizer. Well the bulb was having trouble to fire at first. So I had to keep taking it apart. As some as I would put the bulb in place it would turn off but when I would take it out it would fire back up. So I took the thing apart and found the safety switch went bad. To I had to by pass it. Well when doing that the bulb would stay light at all time. The safety switch is there so the bulb will turn off when the bulb is visible and out of the uv housing. Well being that I by passed it and had the bulb light up for a few min while fixing the unit so it will work. I think I may have burnt my eyes. Later that night I started seeing white spots. And by 7pm last night I couldn't even open my eyes with out tremendous pain. Then this morning it felt like I was looking through fog. Everything was so fuzzy. I even tried to go to work but they sent me home use I couldn't read the eye chart from 10' away.

Even now there super puffy and blood shot to hell. The uv burn it the only thing I can thing that could cause my eyes to be doing this.

Yea eyes can get sunburned. That's why it is advisable to wear sunglasses on a sunny day. The pain should go away in a few days.

Thanks guys/gals I'm doing a lot better work actually let me drive a big rig today. So yea I'm good. But it's pretty crazy to think that a min of uv light could do so much damage.
