Vivid Insanity Grow Out

Alright this one is just for fun.

nkkm , Hugo’s_reef , and myself picked up Vivid Insanity frags from Coral Farmers Market on 2/25/23. Since all 3 of got them at the same time thought I would start a grow out & Color up thread to see how these piece progress in 3 different systems.

Here is mine from when i got it to today. Piece was/is still super light in color but seems to be getting a little more rich on color.

Will try and keep parameters stable around these #'s for my system
ALK: 8 - 8.5
CA: 420 - 450
MG: 1600 - 1700 (High but not sure how to get it down and not seeing any issues)
NO3: 2-10
PO4: .03-.10

Lights are ReefBreeders and will be under 400ish par

So here’s mine , picked it up as the last remaining nub at the farmers market but my last frag was growing really well and fast.

My tank is a 24x24x12 lit with 1 -Radion xr15 Blue gen 5.

Here are my parameters from trident. My calcium looks like it’s reading kinda high. Phosphate last time I checked was .04 and nitrate was 20 . Frag is probably getting 250-300 par.

Here's mine, had to move it to get good photos so no polyps.

Currently in 150G 48x30x24 under a single 36" reef breeder.

Here are my parameters. My trident has been playing up lately so I think my ALK is closer to 7.5 and my Calcium is definitely not 528, more like 440.

Mine hasn’t colored up much either, but it finally has some good polyp extension like the rest of the coral so that’s a good sign. I think the color might take us another few weeks.

Yeah my polyp extension isnt great either but then again most of my tenuises are crazy hairy.

I got a little nub 11 months ago. It's just starting to grow (normal frag size now) but I still haven't seen much color from it. Some tenuis types just don't thrive in my system though. I'm tempted to move it lower and see if it gets more going on. Hopefully you guys are able to pull growth and color a lot quicker.

Is your piece super white? My looks bone white in daylight vs all my other acros.

yeah sounds about the same. Keep in mind mines not all that colorful under blues yet either. Just slight hints of pink and blue. So for sure colored down.

I look forward to seeing how everyone's Insanity grows in the coming months. I got a frag in December of last year. It took about six weeks to get color up. It hasn't encrusted a bunch, but it's grown in size. Mine was a light grey for the first several weeks. I've found to be a good grower.
