Vodka dosing and skimate Q

so I'm only on day 5 following the instructions set out in the RK magazine article, but have a question. from everything I have read i should be seeing an increase in skimate production and its darkness. MUCH to my surprise since the 1st dose my skimate production has STOPPED completely. the skimmer is working (aqua c remora with mj1200) with cup adjusted to a 'fully wet setting' and foam isn't even entering the neck. is this 'normal' when 1st starting this process?

the dosing is to curb/stop a GHA infestation that I'm finally determined to get rid of.

when you say "with cup adjusted to a 'fully wet setting'" it means the water level in the skimmer is as high as possible right?
