What are you trying to feed him? You can try frozen krill, but he may need to be enticed with live food for the fist few weeks. Mollies from petco/petsmart work good and you can usually get them for about $2 each - they will live long enough in your saltwater tank for him to eat...

Do you have a kit to test your water parameters? You should also get one of those if not. If you are going to keep a reef tank, keeping your water quality in check is THE most important item.

Hello and welcome. I would not add any fish or coral until the tank is cycled. as stated above, get yourself some test kits, they will answer a lot of your questions as well. nice set up.

Welcome to the family, even though I have no idea what you are saying half the time.....

I have a question. Did u buy the setup new or used? Who lied to you when they said u could put fish in after setting up tank. You needed to wait at least a few weeks after ur tank cycled to add any kind off live stock. I have a book you can borrow to help you learn the hobby in a better way.

Also a lion fish is not reef safe. They will eat shrimp, crabs, smaller fish, and pretty much all crustations.

LMK if u want to cruse up to Yucaipa. I have some macro algae u can have. It will help ur tank fight PO4
