Hey Everyone,
I am going to start up a little member participation series here about your water chemistry. This could help others in the hobby that are just starting up or want to try something a little diffrent. The first part of the series will be about temperature. What do you all keep your temperature at in your reef tanks and why? Do you have it fluxuate or do you leave it set the same all year?
I'll go first. I generally keep my water temps under 75 deg in the winter and around 80 max in the summer. I use my apex to control the water temp with a custom season schedule. The reason I currently do this is because after reasearching water tempratures in the ocean it is always fluxating based on season. I do get a lot of questions about why so cold in the winter as well but I find my tank really like this balance as well as I like to run my salenity a little high so it allows for more oxigen in the water.
