Calling all DP's!
I dirty pirated a couple chromis into my tank on Saturday night and this morning my Blue Tang has ich. My tank was ich free before this... my fish didn't even get it when I moved to LA from CA with all the stress they had to have been under... not just that but my tank was super peaceful... everyone got along splendidly, but now everyone is fighting... clowns being aggressive towards my anthias, Blue Tang towards foxface, and most of all, cleaner wrasse and bicolor blenny towards the new chromis. FML... :banghead:

I have 10 fish now. All small except the Blue Tang and Foxface which are medium sized. It's hard to tell in some of the fish cuz of their color but I can definitely see ich on one of the chromis

For now I'm just planning to feed heavily with garlic and Selcon and hope for the best. I couldn't catch it without taking out all the rocks and the stress I would cause would make matters much worse for him I'm sure. Not to mention that I don't have a qt tank that would be adequately sized for the tang so I think he'll be best off staying put. I hope the stress caused by adding the new fish to the mix will subside quickly and everyone will find their place. And the ich will go away within the week. Crossing my fingers...

What a waste of space. Chromis are so boring!!!!
I don't agree. I like how they school together and would like to get a few more to add to these two. But someone gave them to me and I needed to add to my bioload got my starving corals' sake so I took them. They came from a 40 breeder with WAAAAY too many fish... a 8-9" Blue Tang, 2 MONSTER 6-7" Domino Damsels, and several others. It's a temporary situation for the others and is better than the alternative, believe it or not. They've been in there since last Tues and he is slowly moving them over to a bigger tank one or 2 at a time.

Anyway, there was a TON of stress in that tank, as you can imagine. I wish I had taken the 2 chromis on Tues when I was helping him with the tank move but I was too tired to deal with bringing home fish to acclimate, and in the pouring rain at midnight, too... so I got them on Sat and am paying the price now.

But chromis are still cool :)

I have 5 chromis and they school together, always out, I like them....

Get yourself a U.V. if you don't have one !
As stated above, agreed.
I had a uv but got rid of it when I discovered it was leaking voltage in the tank. If I were to get another one, is there any rule of thumb of how many watts you need for whatever size tank or anything? Or is it basically just the higher the wattage, the more efficient?

I recommend the Aqua U.V think they are one of the best. It is important you get the correct wattage for your gal. tank. Also just as important you get the correct flow running thru it. You can either go on there web site, they have charts on wattage and flow rates, or you can simply call them. Ask for tech support. aquauv.com
