"MadMax" is obviously the nic-name given Mel Gibson in the epic sci-fi movie of the same name...
however in this case "MAX" is the acronym for our show: Marine Aquarium Expo
and "Mad"Max refers to all the emotions stirred up when I dropped affilliation with a local "club" to create our own professional event.
The Marine Aquarium Expo is now coming up on its SIXTH year, and growing larger and stronger than ever!

I find history much more interesting than fiction.
The real Rasputin of late 18th and early 19th century (mystic/holy man to Czar Nickolas of Russia) was an incredible man that seemed impossible to kill.
This guy had supernatural powers (in the real world) that are hard to believe or comprehend.

I first learned about him in an honors class in high school decades ago; he has been one of my favorite historical characters ever since (though not very well known outside of Russian history buff circles) definitely worth the research nonetheless.

Last summer I went to a Guns N' Roses concert where a band I never heard of before, Steel Panther opened. Steel Panther was so kick *** and over the top they became one of my new favorite bands. The intro track to their album Balls of Steel tells the story that in the future, year 6969, the all female armies of the Lezbodyke Nebula rid the galaxy of their most hated enemy, men. In order to reproduce they invented a self-impregnation pill but the prototype pill accidentally fell into a black hole, where the pill evolved into a sentient sex crazed being named Reezark SP. Reezark was eventually ejected from the black hole and made it to Earth, with only sex, drugs, and heavy metal on his mind.
After listening to the entire album the name "Reezark" stuck with me lol!
