Anyone have any idea why Capistrano Reef, San Juan Capistrano, has not had anything to sell for several months? Have gone in their several times and there is less and less inventory each time. When I ask the employee, owner never there anymore, he just shakes his head.

Also take into account these are the worst months in the industry. The citees (sp.) tend to end for Aussie stuff. Also their winter starts now if I'm not mistaken. Which basically makes the water turbulent. The Indo stuff is year round basically.

The way one guy explained it to me. "Everyone during the Summer is outdoors and don't pay much attention to their tanks." "In the Fall months school starts and holidays follow so more things are done indoors and so guys want their tanks looki g good for company and while they enjoy it."

Extreme hobbyists make up a significant percentage but most fish stores depend on other customer base.

All I hear is "worst time for fish stores".

Xmas time- no one is shopping for their tank
Jan-feb - everyone is in recovery mode.
Summer - as mentioned above

so lets be real. The only good time is tax return season and when people are home in the fall?

Your wrong Xmas is part of peak time for other states and here. The type of people that are dependent on tax returns aren't the main target for most higher end LFS's you frequent.

I have tired to buy something from them multiple times recently, but their was no livestock to buy. Not believing the time of year stuff; most fish/reef stores have plenty of livestock inventory currently. They are just so far to go from South Orange County. Hope they come back or another store opens south of the El Toro Y.

Anyone know where the hell these guys ended up? The sign on their door says to check out their website for the new address but guess what, no new address. They always had some pretty decent stuff but I found their customer service to be fairly shitty, way too much of a "too cool for school" vibe. How the hell hard is it to make an edit to an HTML file with an address or phone number.

Except where the part where they're the ones that said, "hey take time out of your day to find us by checking out our site where you will find no useful information"

Hope they stay in South county. We have very little in the way of stores locally.
Yeah, I can't image them moving that far north. Every time I stopped by, stock is extremely bare, heard they mainly thrive on tank services. Plus competition is stiff up here, I would've totally suggested expanding my store into South County if the RENT down there wasn't $3-5 a square foot.

Probably like many stores, they got a webmaster they need to contact to get that done. I think the entire time they were sponsors here they might have posted something twice. Either too busy or not internet savvy.
