When to change RODI filters

When do you replace RODI filters? My TDS shows zero so thinking of waiting until some TDS shows up. It's been at least 6 months since I last replaced them. My DI resin color indicates it's only 25% used.

It just depends on how much water you produce. Ideally the DI resin should be replaced once the tds is pass 1. The carbon block should be replaced once 4-6 months. The sediment filter should be replaced when your water pressure drop. The RO membrane once every 2 years.

Nowadays your local water district is using Chloramine which the tds meter can’t detect. Replacing activated carbon more often if you’re producing a lot of water would be the best way to go.

Di can last 600-900 g, sediment until it changes to pretty dirty, carbon id change around the same time as sediment

Thank you both. my water district uses chloramines, and I do daily auto water changes. I also noticed a drop in water pressure. time to change some of the filters.

It is impossible to say accurately. There are so many variables. I go through Di resin in a fraction of the time i did at my previous house, yet I make less water than before. The source water is the biggest factor, but water pressure and how you run your system are also significant factors.

It will be impossible to tell you accurately, it is not an issue of time. Source water is a huge part of the equation.

I once lived in a place where I had no RO unit, and just ran straight DI. That DI would last me about a year. But the TDS out of the tap was 8.

My current location my TDS out of the tap is over 500 sometimes, so my RO filter doesn't last as long, and neither does my DI.

I got a 180maxcap. And first DI canister is already at 1ppm after the first 150g. Rejection rate is currently at 96%. Is that normal?
