I have 2 Haddonis and looking to add a Gigantea carpet anemone to the tank. Please let me know what you have or where to get one.

Thanks for looking.

I saw a big red carpet anemone at Tong's LFS. It was gorgeous. Didn't ask for the price because I wasn't getting it, but it was so nice. I figure it was 12"+ across.

I saw that many months ago. However, I believe that it’s a Haddoni, not a Gig.

Dont we all want a red gig?! :)
a red gig was thought to be a unicorn at one time until recently.

As far as I know, there's only 1 guy that has one. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/gig-‘ems-grand-gigantea-gathering.850187/

Heres my tank

Here's my baby red haddoni (I swear it looks more like a yuma sometimes)

Thanks. I’m on R2R myself with the same handle and I saw your post — thank you.

At this point, I will be happy to get a gig, doesn’t have to be red 🤣

Tongs Tropical Fish gets them in from time to time, in Fountain Valley. Usually need some TLC, but priced alright usually.

Amazing Aquariums and Reefs is the best bet for a healthy gig. I haven't been in for some time, but I'm sure Ali can find what you want. Has some cool gigantea on display as well.

Thanks — will give them a call. I actually prefer local purchase since I heard shipping may turn them into soup.

I've heard the same. Anytime I consider getting a gig, I have cipro and a 5g QT tank ready. I won't bother putting one in the display tank that hasn't been treated, going forward. So I'd plan on that, if it isn't established from a hobbyist or treated prophylactically from the LFS.

Yeah, when it comes to anemones, I highly recommend supporting your LFS on this one. The shipping process is really hard on them.

I decided to go all sps so I rehomed mine. I'm 4/4 for treating with cipro, just a lot of work. I'm considering going back and doing a more anemone based tank in the future though. If I do that, I'll be trying to find a nice blue one.

My pictures aren't very organized so this is all I could find.

In my previous system I had a cool but very small neon yellowish/green gigantea, I regret selling. I bought it at Tong's for $50 because it was very bleached and face down. I used cipro and it ended up making a full recovery. It was too small and my clowns were beating it up to the point of partially hiding all the time.

Even this common tan one was pretty cool looking under metal halides, had a cool iridescence to it.

Outstanding — love it! I have a full SPS tank and now building a nem-only tank 😁

Green’ish looking species in LEDs look good now vs the old days although I prefer blue of trying to find that red unicorn! Ha

It started off prices at $5000, last time I was there it was $7000
