wtf! stupid rod onyx

So I have a pair of Onyx clowns, one is a Rod's onyx (female) the other is from a breeder of WC Onyx (male).

They've been together for a year and this week the female has been bothering the male. I had to separate them because the male looked really bad. The male is about 1/3 the female's size. His fins are all messed up

What the hell can cause this?

The only reason I can think of is because the female is ready for spawning and the male is still too small so I think the female is stressed? I've seen the female cleaning rocks the past week so maybe that's the problem?

I don't know the problem. But I do know the solution. I'm sure u know what I'm going to say. Hehe give me the male onyx.

I dont blame her. If I was spawning, and the only dude around was itty bitty, I'd be cranky as well. :a16:

put the female somewhere else... leave the male where the pair should be.. feed him, let him recoup and heal... in a few weeks, reintroduce the female back...

otherwise, i got a pair of high grade breeding onyx if you're interested.... its gonna be pricey tho, i've had them for 2 years and cherish the hell outta 'em...
