Wife had friends daughter helping clean spayed a crap ton of pledge on dining room table right near both tanks was like a friggin tear gas grenade when ivwalked in both Sumps had bubble slash oil slicks and prcipitate started in one got test kits out ph 7.8 maybe 8 if I squint amonia 0 nitrite showing .25 ish nitrate is bonkers at 80plus ppm I am assuming this is a chem reaction to spray chemicals that got in tank any tips all my plates corals are shrivepd up tentacles and my tounge plate has all its mouths wide open I've never seen and my Aussie pink hammer can't even see it tentacles. Am I gonna wake up to a nuked tank in am. Any ideas imbgonna run to wal mart hope they have a ph buffer and carbon

Not an option till mid day did both tanks the other day only have 7.5 salt and like 8 ro


Maybe 15 gal salt that I could mix


did a manual skim with hose to get bubbles and slick out and cranked skimmers

Im running every **** thing I can find managed to pull off 30% water changes on both tanks all I could do got charcol from wal mart and everypiece of mechbfilter I had laying around plus fired up Tue two canisters I had sitting in garage ph is better now but test is still showing nitrates on both tanks at 80 ppm got be some kind of reaction on reagents to sumthing in spray

Well done all I can other than remove everything to other tanks. Long tentacle plate got color back and filling back up toounge plate still open but tentacles out so hope since I caught as it happend I managed to cut off before ut got to bad ill keep ya posted wish me luck. And that can I'd pledge well its gonna be target practice and banned from my house

Just a good ole water change. And I would skim as wet as possible.

lucky you caught it... My ex nuked my frag tank with windex - lots of tanks nuked cuz of the nasty *&@#@ in household cleaners.

All is still alive and seems to be back to normal well that was a fun exercise. No I know I can change water in both tanks in about 45 min from mix to final :banghead: skimmers still seem to be pulling a crap ton extra but all corals back to normal pink hammer still not fully open but not inverted and tounge still a little open but its been opening and closing. Fish are all fine ph back to normal nitrates still showing 80 ppm so might have to go get different test kit see if reagents react diff. I'm running sechem nitrate reducer bags just in case but if I was that high I figure everything would be dead
