I have a couple frags and a small colony of diffrent types. Some are opening good others not to good. On the small colony 80% are opened fully the rest don't open at all. My question is what type of placement is best for these guys. I have a 9o gl With T5 lighting and K4 K3 powerheads. 4 bulbs. Where should they placed as far water movement. Any advice. Thx

Zoas and palys in my tank seem to like med-low flow. Most polyps in my experience will not fully open when being blasted with direct high flow.

I have seen zoas all over peoples tanks. An growing great. Some have great luck at the top, while others at the bottom.

I believe that from my experience if you give them time to settle in to their location (With not too much high flow) and allow them adjust properly, they will grow just about anywhere in your tank.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't put it all the way to the top. I would say mid to bottom is the best.
You have only used T5s. So, no problems where you put it as long as it's comfortable with it.

Thanks just wondering because I have a small colony that ended up closing since I install a small power head and it might be irritating the zoas after I turned it off it started to open a bit .
