I tested my LR h2o.
Ph 8.2
Am .15 ppm
No2 0ppm
No3 5ppm
Phos 1.3ppm

What do you gather from this info? Have I dosed bact correctly? Is something off? It's only been cycling for 7 days with bacteria. Unfortunately I don't know what the bacteria was. It was from the lfs. They used it. Someone knowledgeable gave a bunch to them because they were having ick probs. It helped with lfs probs. It's very very good apparently. It was a powdery substance (i was assuming it would be in a more liquid substance, I hadn't gotten my hands on dr tims since this was here, to know what's up with it.) I had to keep it in fridge. I got 1 gal h20 and an air stone. Dumped the bacteria in and stirred a bit. I feel like I didn't witness the cloudy effect I was supposed to get. From the bacteria colonizing or so...
So, do my results seem ok?, or is it to early to tell?, or have I failed? Hehe
Thanks

Something is going on because you have Nitrate. The elevated levels of Ammonia say that it isn't done cycling.
The Phosphate is also VERY high. Is there anything obviously on the rock? Maybe something that needs to be removed? You ARE getting there, but you aren't quite there yet

Hang in there...

1 rock looks like it's starting to grow dark green algae. Other than that, the tank came with a rack of some sort that lays in the bottom of the tank like a big grid. I left it in there. I could remove it need be. Should I do a wc?

All I no is, all them critters I knew had to be on the rock, are no where to be found. I've found nothing, through out the whole process, to remove other than a brittle star and some astrina. I saw a good 3 or 4 inch bristle worm on the rock before it was dead and I haven't seen it. To remove...

I would ride it out for the time being. Check it again in a week or so. Remember, it isn't cycled until Ammonia and Nitrite is at zero. I think a water change at this point would be counter productive. Because you are cycling the rock in a separate tank, any elevated levels now will only benefit you in the long run when you go to add the rock to your display. The elevated levels of Ammonia will lead to a good colony of good bacteria on the rock
Just don't get ahead of yourself and add the rock to the display before it is fully cycled...

Gotcha thank you! I agree. I'm gunna leave it go for another week which is when I'm supposed to do a 50% wc. Then I was told to cycle it for 2 more weeks, Or until lvls are down.
I'll keep an eye on it. Thank u Ndrwater! ...I love the name! BTW

Sure. Just don't go crazy. The probability that there will be some sort of a die off on the soon to be added Fiji is very high. That said, the fact that you are well on your way with the existing rock you have will definitely jump start the process with the Fiji rock.
Remember, adding rock is like adding fish and corals. You are increasing the bio load, so take your time and all will be right with the world.

That condi looked nice when you got it. Hopefully everything worked out!
Well mr condi is still living ;) however he's has started to bleach. I'm sure that greenish colored he'd been was the beginning stage. I got new ati t5 bulbs a couple weeks ago and under that light, you can see the remaining zooxanthellae. Hes gunna be a good recovery story. I've seen bleached nems get it back to normal in other threads so I'm hoping he'll do the same. I've been watching closely and I feel I have seen improvements. Like everything in this hobby, time will tell... Thank you

Can u please give me some assurance/advice. Just tested my lr tank. No amm. No3 still there and possibly climbing.
Bact dosed Rock 6/26
2 weeks later 7/10 wc 50%
7/12 added 12lb rock to rock tank
Now 8/7 and showing no amm. But no3.
I'm still using my api test kit and, I get it, its not great but it should still tell me when no3 is there and when it's gone. I just haven't been able to track precisely if its slightly raising or lowering.
So, I have not done wc since 7/10. OK? I haven't had a light on it till 2 weeks or so ago. Need light? I hope I didn't mess things up but I did add some purple up to the tank on 7/10 hoping to keep some coraline in there. OK? (That was probably a mistake on my part. The coraline probably needs light and I didn't have that then. I believe it's all dead)
Do u think I need to try dosing bact again? Grrrrr I'm trying :/
I just saw u mentioned something of being done when amm and no2 are gone. They are! I'm concerned with this no3....

might want to cut the hours or raise the fixture
Well I'm thinking Condy wasn't getting enough light in the beginning. I wasn't using t5. When I got the t5 bulbs and newer fixture, that's when I saw improvements... Or lack of zooxanthellae algae from before...

Just do another water change for the nitrate. How much nitrate? It would have to be really high to hurt anything.

Most likely if your tests showed ammonia, and now they don't, your tank most likely cycled.

Purple up just adds calcium as far as I know. I wouldn't waste your money on it. Coraline will come in time with water changes and keeping your parameters stable. Once you get it you will wish you never had it hehe I hate scraping it off my glass.

For the last week or so, I think I've seen improvements with nem with new lights. I'm gonna keep things the same for another week and see. I do have lights raised a bit now
