Let's all remember that an employee who says things is not always indicative of the store he works for. So I woudnt have any interest in the name of store as a single poor experience doesn't warrant being put on blast. If anything call up ask for the owner and ask him to clarify store policy. To many haters:)

That is true but most shops are ran by owners and partners. Not just employees. And the employee wouldn't give a rats @$$ about extra profits. Doesn't benefit him. He's probably making 7$ an hour or getting free or cheap coral. No worker is going to up the price. And yes. All shops are going to charge more for nicer pieces. But the fact that he told you he was going to charge more once it colored up was a total salesman move. And he's basically telling you take it or leave it. Keep up that attitude and he will be begging for business soon I guarantee you that. A lot of big business will have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed (costco, etc) Because they know having that rep will ultimately bring in more profit. Them having that attitude will ultimately put them out of business.

Sorry to say but that's business and there are many shops that will do it. Same with fish.... price goes up the longer it stays alive and even high when they eat dry foods but you will get a discount when they just bag the fish up from the wholesellers. There are a few shops that will keep their price the same weather or not it colors up or fishy are eating.

Back in the days when tail spotted blennies were hard to get and every LFS was charging $30-$50. I found a place where the charge $18.99 and I ask the worker these are hard to get and he replied "I know". So I ask him why aren't you selling them higher and he reply "I'm happy charging my regular price of $18.99"
Bob charge the same all the time.

Every LFS will try to sell turd colored maricultured colonies and urge you to buy them before they color up and the price goes up. But chances are that they won't and they'll continue to be looking like turds because that's what most maricultured SPS are.
Not true. Where do you think these Tyree le come from back in the days. When you actually try to color up corals

This is part of the hobby that is so sad. (price manipulation based on current lighting conditions, labeling living corals with a store or person's name, etc.)

Thank God I like Yellow Tangs and hammer corals and not trying to impress fellow sausage swingers

To put things in perspective:
I wonder how the AKC would react to some breeder calling their litter "Leonard's Labradors" or "Tran Terriers"
Corals are a lot like dog, horses, cattle and other prized animals. Spectacular specimens and their offspring fetch a higher price. It is what it is. AKC is no different.

BTW, since you mentioned terrier... ever heard of Jack Russell.
