I just installed my brand new COR-15 yesterday and the flow is not what i expected. I tried to return it to BRS and they won't take it back since it touched water. I want to upgrade to the COR-20.
the pump is in perfect working order and i would like to sell it once i get the COR-20 in a...
are you sure it doesn't say mix 4 hours prior to adding it to your tank? that would make more sense. on another note i stopped doing water changes ever since i added a bio pellet reactor.
you can get away with the return pump flow and wave maker to start. SPS is what requires a ton of flow. you can always place higher flow requiring corals directly in front of the return pump output or wave maker.
i personally use the BRS 6 stage system. i love having 2 DI containers. you don't have to worry about changing them as soon as the media is used up since you have a whole second canister. i change my first chamber once the second chamber starts to change color. this is something you could always...
unless the two media has the same flow requirement and can be changed at the same rate, i would keep them separate. personally i like to have everything separate unless its specifically designed to be mixed with something else.
I think the carpet one is designed to go under the carpet. The solid surface has some weight to it to hold it down vs the under carpet one which is slim to fit under carpet and be held down by the carpet
+1
Skimmers are not a must, but almost everyone will agree they are highly beneficial to sw tanks and I've never known anyone to not have one. If you have one or get one you don't need an air stone.
