Good for aquarium but I've heard they sting you if you touch them. Not sure if it's true or not. I have a bunch in my tank

I use to have them in my 50 gallon and even pulled out one that was a foot long. They come out when the lights go out. I would just be worried about the larger ones because I remember reading somewhere they can try biting sleeping fish. Who knows though... For the most part they are beneficial as part of your clean up crew. Now, in my new tank I have stomatellas and asterinas as hitch hikers.

Even though it is red and shiny? I always saw brittle worms as brown and dull?

I think you should be fine. Rarely do you get a harmful one. Compare your bristleworm with the ones from this thread.
