No the pellets need to have strong circular movement to do any good. I've been running mine (AquaMaxx & AquaMaxx Bio Pellets) for over a year and did notice a nice drop in nitrates to almost none.

I have a 6 inch SPS/green millie...one of my crabs knocked it on to my elegance coral and it was most likely getting stung all day. The Millie got stung up pretty bad and I'm wondering if I should cut off the fingers where it was stung and is now dieing or just leave it. I heard the dead parts...

This is a very good point...and very true since the bubbles are only appearing during the day under my Radion Pro's. I may modify my light settings to see if I can tone them down a little. Thanks for the info.

I'm convinced its from algae, since my skimmer has been off for 48 hours and absolutely no micro bubbles in DT or sump. I'm turning my skimmer on tonight and going ride this one out to see it corrects itself since my tank is a relatively new setup. I like the hermit and snail idea too...and...

Thanks for the info...Your right I found that answers do vary on this. I do have bubble traps and did have some issues in my tank so I slowed flow to approx 500 gph (about 7 times turnover per hour) and everything is finally flowing the way I want. Water cleared up and bubbles are gone.

I'm trying to find a good return pump from my sump back to display. My tank is about 70 gallons 29.5w X 24L X 22H Also how much tank turn over per hour is best, I have heard 5 - 10 times per hour. I appreciate suggestions...thank you.
