    Pinched mantle?

So I recently bought two clams at RAP, a maxima and a deresa. They both looked fine when I got them, but now the maxima is never fully opened and it seems that it has pinched mantle. I am not positive so I'm looking for conformation and what to do if it is.

    Ahhhhh velvet help!

Thanks for the input guys, so would my qt need a protein skimmer? I figure it wouldnt since i'd constantly dose it with copper. Also, i've heard hyposalinity wont work for velvet since its embedded within the slime coat so it would be doing nothing. Thoughts?

LED light recommendation for 50gal tank 36 inch tank

The razor R420R is what my LFS uses and the owner swears by them. He specializes in SPS and all his corals look amazing and have been growing like crazy so i trust him. If you were to get them the 16K look better than the 10K imo.

    Clams!!!!

Thanks for the reply El Dude. Right now I use Elos test kits to test for Calcium, nitrate, Magnesium and Phosphate. I have an API test kit for high alkalinity. Is there anything you'd recommend to test for? Thanks though, i'll wait a couple more months then to attempt a clam. I wanted to get...

    Clams!!!!

Hello everyone! I am fairly new to the saltwater hobby but I have set up a reef tank for around 3 months now and I have fell in love with it. From day 1, I've always wanted a clam and i'm wondering which kind of clam would be the easiest to keep? The only problem with my system is that I have a...

The one I had ate my fire goby within a day of introducing it in the tank. Would not recommend them, but then again it really depends on the individual crab
