Has LE just become part of the names on a lot of these corals lately or is it just me.
I just keep seeing LE this or that and are sold at top dollar on pretty much every coral site or sold from individuals.
Just sharing an idea I had for a tall and narrow tank.
Using T5HO on both sides to give light to the bottom of the tank and a MH at the top.
The main issue I see is trying to clean the thing.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the AC noise produced by my T5 ballasts? When all of my ballast are on I get alot of static on the TV and have problems picking up some stations.
This is a retro.
Just saw this documentry at the Irvine Spectrem. Well worth the $15. Some parts were a little hard on the eyes but still really cool. It was a little sad seeing all the bleaching corals and tons of algea that are covering our reefs.
Just thought I'd share
Do these guys spread out or do the just grow from the base? When I got the piece it had like 5 heads now from what I can tell it has around 12 but there still seem to be stuck to the frag disc. Do I need to frag them to have them spread in the tank?
I have a couple of new pieces, first is a blue xenia that I got at the last SCMAS meeting. It has been in the tank for about a week and has already started to spread to the adjacent rocks. Do the polyps ever open on these or do they remain fairly closed as pictured?
Also got this lawnmower...
I suddenly have about 30 I guess (haven't counted them) keyhole limpets running around my tank or what I guess they are keyholes. Biggest one is prob 1/4 inch in size and all are solid white. Should I leave them alone or start removing them?
I have a small piece of chaeto about the size of a softball thats been in my fuge for almost a month. All the new growth looks like roots, short skinny and brown and kinda fuzzy feeling. Is this right or do I need more light or current or something?
