Fishybeaner has one amazing tank and is one of the most humble reefers around. If he says his tank is just OK he's full of it!! Just remember if you stop by that when he ask of you want to do karate in the garage its a trick. Al did that last time and he's been missing since.

This was after an hour of cleaning man! lol look at all that cyano! I ran vinegar through the chiller and it heated and cooled really good. It didn't have the UV kit on it though so I ordered it. As soon as it comes in I'll put it on line. I can already tell that I'm going to be happy with it. Thanks man!

Ah dude, my mistake there....I guess that's what the guy that I bought it from meant when he said it had the uv option. I thought he meant it was installed if I wanted to run it but since I don't really believe in uv, I never even tried it out in the year and couple months I owned it. Send me your pp please so I can refund a homie ; )

dude, no. It's cool. I like the chiller. I haven't seen a difference between running UV and not but to be honest I haven't really given it a chance. I had one that ran for a while way back before I knew what was going on in this hobby. It was on a FOWLR system with T8's! The last one I tried the bulb went out after a few days. When I replaced it I touched the glass with my hands so it went out again a few days later. Some one told me that UV took care of their cyano issue so I want to try it one last time before I look into ozone. Besides, the discount you gave me almost covered the cost of the UV kit.

I've never really had a good experience with UV sterilizers. I ran one in one of my early set ups 14 years ago but I didn't have a system that would see a difference. 4 years ago I tried a coralife twist and the bulb went out twice in one month so I just pulled it.

A couple weeks ago I got a deal on a Teco chiller and today I installed the UV kit on it

I'm curious to see the effects on running UV on this tank because I've heard from people who swear by them and from people that say that it's just a waste of money. Hopefully the bulb cooperates with this experiment because if it doesn't, I don't think I'll be replacing it.
