I am making a light stand for my 30x30x18 tank. My light consist of 250W galaxy ballast, 20K Radium bulb, PFO pendant with 2x18 watt actinics. I was wondering if that is enough light for a 70gallon tank with moderate level of sps and lps or do i need to go with 400 watt. Need some help here? 250W or 400W???

pic of my pendant. it is about 9 in height. how far up should I have it from the water depending whether you go with 250W or 400W

If you already have the pendant and ballast, try raising it to get a better spread for 30 x 30. 250w should be fine for an 18" deep tank. I personally would get a better designed pendant, like lumenmax elite or luminarc full size.
