So construction has finally begun. Its still going to be a long process from here but the first component is in hand. The stand.

Tank:
108" L x 30" D x 24" H
Acrylic
Eurobracing
Dual Trapezoid Over flows

Stand:
108" L x 30" D x 40" H
Stand is coated in Herculiner (Like Rhino Liner) to prevent rust, corrosion, and scratches.

Sump:
60" L x 24" D x 20" H
(Still working on this part)

Lighting:
T5 / LED Combo
Going to use T5 retros in conjunction with LEDs. I have been using the AI Sol on my frag tank and am happy with growth but not the color I get from my T5 display so im going to combine the two. I might run 3-4 AI Sols down the center row with 12 T5s on the outsides. (Sketch to come)

Flow:
Return Pump - ?
Multiple Tunze - Model ?

Controller:
Apex

Return Pump will be housed outside to limit in home noise.

I have two 100 gallon tanks in my garage which are at a higher elevation than the tank to gravity feed water changes and top off. This will be hard plumbed to the tank to make easy water changes and constant RO. No more refilling my 5 gal bucket! :D

Much more to come as things progress. And lots of pics...

Any suggestions on an external return pump? I'm going to use tunze for in tank flow so it doesn't have to be too big but needs to be a reliable pump

O_O this is one huge tank! cant wait to see the updates. i really like your idea of the 100 gallon gravity feed ATO.

suggestion for a external return pump maybe 2 iwaki or panworld pumps.

Sweet setup... can't wait to see how your lighting turns out. I think (IMO) that the T5 with LED combo could be a sweet way to go. Less heat, less electricity, great color options and SHIMMER! I have a T5 retro setup to. I have 6 bulbs...3 ballasts. I put them in my canopy in 2 groups of 3...so the center has a space left for a bright LED bar strip. I still haven't purchased the LEDs but I'm going to soon. I'll go with a 48" light bar with 36 3 watt LEDs. I hope this will be enough to penetrate the T5s when they're all on to give me the shimmer I want. Any thoughts?

That should be plenty. Hopefully they are dinable.

Where is this beast going? You doing partially in the garage? I regret not doing that to make that an excuse to mancave dwell.

I'm think dual pumps in series for redundancy. Maybe some little giants or snappers... Thoughts?

So i think I am going to run a snapper dedicated to one of the overflows. Also a barracuda ran to a manifold (for UV, recirc Skimmer, carbon and gfo reactor) and then to the other overflow. Gives me around 3800 gph to the display with around 350w of usage and the main reason... redundant pumps.
