So decided the office needs a new tank and I am excited as I haven't had a real tank other than a small one at home for awhile. Plus I am at work way more than anywhere else because I have no life so I will get to focus on it. I would like to do all SPS but that would require me buying frags and I am poor and cheap so I will just be using a lot of the coral I had that no one is buying from me. Lots of acans and such.

The trick is that I want to spend 0 dollars on this build. Nothing at all. So that means I will have to use equipment lying around that nobody wants etc. The Frankenstien build! I will admit though that I work somewhere that gives me a lot of opportunity to pillage random reefing equipment so it wont be too hard.

So first There is this Visio tank that's a standard 90 that's been lying around. Problem is its not reef ready. So I am going to use two separate old overflow boxes on it.

yes I know my Iphone pics are terrible.

A little scrubbing and this should clean up nicely

And the second overflow to be used.

Every good tank needs a skimmer right? Problem is I don't really have a skimmer that would be appropriate for this tank size. However I do have a massive skimmer that way to big for this tank I can use! Super sweet right? Its a Reeflo Orca Pro 1. A few years old so if you aren't familiar with it you can check it out here

I need to clean it up a bit.

I also don't have a stand that fits this tank. But why let that stop the fun? There is this sweet 72 inch long stand laying around. Lets use that! I think we can place a board over the edge the protrudes and paint it. make a nice table of sorts of the excess stand. Place a picture of shnitzelreef and lowbudget hugging it out there. I dunno...

When it comes to calcium I have always preferred a calcium reactor to dosing pumps. I am not sure how much demand there will be in a mostly LPS tank but I am going to use the big korallin reactor that nobody seems to want.

I have a big tank and a small tank. Since replacing the CO2 when it runs out is a hassle I will go with the 20 pound tank.

So this is the sump I am using. Its good for 40 gallons. I am guessing I will just stuff it full of cheato? Calpurea? Maybe I will just run GFO only and not have macro algae?

I hate micro bubbles coming back in the return so I was really happy when one of those stupidly expensive foam blocks was found

I am trying to figure out what to do for the return pump. The sump is drilled for two bulkheads so I could do an external pump. I have a Pan World 100PX-X magnetic water pump I could use. or I could use a 976gph submersible AquaticLife pump. There is plenty of room under the stand.

so you know how tank manufacturers are always saying they will only warranty a tank if its on one of the stands it came on? There is usually a good reason lol.

Started filling this tank up with RO water and noticed that the stand started to bow slightly since the bracing is set up for a much larger tank and not a smaller 90 on one side. soooooooooooooooooooooo..... Looks like maybe a sheet of wood is needed to distribute the weight more. But then that means spending money. hmmmm lets see.
