Super short version. My large "Jesus stag" ways stn'ing from the bottom for about a week. Well don't care for it much so I let it wander. Today I said wtf? Checked calcium lower 390 checked alk a lil high at 8.5. And finally the salinity a low 1.025.

I don't know if it's all the acclimation I did with the new fish? Added salt water when I did this. But did have skimmer issues last month, a lot. I think from now on the least I can do is check salinity once a week. Oh and a tri color simplex I got from a swap was also STN ing and now my Hawkins that's my third one. That one I did get pissed about.

Lessen here is salinity will fuuuuuuuuughk your shiiiiit up.

Esteban's memoirs: what does a pink lemonade like? I trust Crystal and few others with a good response. Speak up. Mine is pale yellow with no pink Lemo it's more like brown/violet lemonade

Why do you think 1.025 is low. That seems pretty ideal or atleast "in the range for normal salinity".
Been running mine at 1.026 for 3 years. So to explain I run mine always at 35ppt and it's around 33.5ppt in less than 2 weeks. Hence my issues.

Never that. And there's still plenty of work to do...
Btw to big causes of your fish deaths. One ammonia I'm sure. Nothing denitrifying your rig. Needed waterchanges every 3-5 day at least and my second guess, heater couldn't keep up.

Don't worry all my fish will be up for sale soon. Daddy needs a 8k operation to look like a model again. Haaaaaa I mean for his down payment on the new Vette. Also seriously kidding. But hey World Cup is calling big time

Sucks man, I hate losing simplex's. That's a pretty mellow swing for salinity, though, especially over 2 weeks.

The pink lemonade likes high light, but you have to acclimate it. Ours is right under a blasting halide and in front of the 6105.

I think your tripping too. Man it's not like the salinity changed over night. A month in a salinity swing is not going to effect your stuff like that. Stop pouring your 40s in the tank for all your dead wrasses. Come in just like drinking and driving don't mix neither does drinking and reefing. Ok they do but not when your wicked drunk.
