I've been lurking for a while, a few lame posts, whatever. But I haven't introduced myself, so here goes.
Don. In Anaheim. Current tanks are a 70 tall and a 5.5 pico. I've been out of the hobby since the mid 90's, and last year was given a glass box. So it snowballed.
I ran an aquarium maintenance biz in the 90's, as well as bred A cichlids, discus, and angels. Berlin was the only game in town. Refugiums were just to protect sensitive critters. And nanos were just crazy crap the LFS did. Quite a bit has changed, especially lighting. WOW what we're doing with LEDs...
Anyway, my 70 is a weird shape. 36x30x15. I ended up scaping it with pillars, which I think really works for this tank. I have an aqueon sump, bubble-magus C3.5 skimmer, random pumps and power heads and stuff. Lighting is an Odyssea T5/MH rig. 4x24w actinic T5's, and one 250w MH. Lightly stocked right now, as I only just moved my 9g nano contents into it.
My Pico is my desk tank. I've been ammonia cycling for a while and it's just about ready. Tomorrow I'll drop some caulerpa prolifera in there to be my canary. Just a 5.5 AGA tank with a WavePoint LED light and PennPlax canister filter.
