Dang Cody. You got some bad mojo with aquarium controllers. Haha
Seriously. Still can't believe it I was pretty pissed off yet again thinking "what am I doing wrong now?" but oh well at least I know the problem and am sending it Priority Mail flat rate which isn't that expensive. I asked that they expedite turn around and over night shipping so we'll see if that happens. The only thing I'm reallly worried about is my heater not on a controller but it hasn't turned on in weeks so I'm gonna just leave that unplugged.

Cody, Sorry to hear about your troubles. Your Apex is just mad at you for dumping it and going with that other controller. Just like women they never forget...

So my luck is not getting better. Neptune just emailed me and they are saying the Eb8 works fine after extensive troubleshooting. How is that even possible?

I couldn't even shut the power off on the outlet hence the light remaining on. Could it be the light itself? Wouldn't cutting power to that outlet turn the light off. I'm at a loss someone help me haha

you should just give me your EB8.. >_>

i'm assuming neptune went through the basics of troubleshooting to isolate any problems, in which case, the only answer would be that it's the light itself.

did you ever test the outlet by connecting something else to it?

You just a noob sell it again haha don't use fusion, just connect to it directly using its IP address.

That sucks Cody. I'd just explain your situation again and request they send you a different EB8 because no matter what you did, you couldn't get it to work the way you wanted to.

EDIT: After all, you did troubleshoot with the Apex guy and he said to send it back, right? You followed all their instructions and it didn't work on your end.

I will try that when I get it back.

But how does that make sense that the light stays on if the power is being turned off on that outlet? No power equals no workie right?

If its the fixture what could be causing that?

If the light is a low wattage one and you didn't plug in Outlet #4 or Outlet #8 (relay outlets) then it could have been a delayed thing. Could have been why you still see the light on even though you turned it to OFF. Let me know if you need help programming.

were you turning it off via fusion, or the apex display?

i'm wondering if there's a communication / feedback issue with the unit if you were turning it on / off remotely. that's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Neptune probably only tested it via the controller?

This is what Kyle was telling me, but the light is an ATI powermodule and its the 4 lamp plug... so 216 watts?

Turned it off using Fusion, the display, and Neptune even was trying to turn it off remotely. No dice.

Did you unplug the eb8 and plugged it back in before you shipped it?

Yes, I disconnected the display from the eb8, then unplugged the eb8 from the wall, then plugged everything back in. It was the first thing I did after receiving some suggestions on what to do.

Aquabus Cable- Is that the little usb cable? Can I just buy a new one at Fry's or microcenter to try that? Would that cause one thing to not work but everything else seem to be working fine?

Thanks everyone.

Tofucube Vu maybe I can have you come over on Sunday to help me out since your not far. I'll hook you up with a frag or a 12 pack, anything really just want this thing to work.

I still have to troubleshoot my other controller... so lame.
