Well, I figured I would put letters to screen and get this thread going. I will be ordering a new tank in the next week or two and setting it up soon after. Keeping with my history with reefs, this is going to be another SPS dominated tank. All the equipment from my 60g cube build will be used for this new build. I had to take down the cube due to a a skimmer overflow mishap which made my stand unsafe to use. I am taking the opportunity to make my fianc a little happier and downsizing (though this tank will be much sexier than the 60!).

Custom 24x24x16 (rimless tank drilled three times (2 1'' drains for herbie style and a 3/4'' return)
DIY stand (I will never use a POS MDF stand again!)
10 AGA sump
x1 Ecotech Radion LED unit
x2 Ecotech mp10esw
SRO INTO 1000 skimmer
Mag 7 return
Phosban 150 tee'd into return for carbon/GFO
JNS biopellet reactor (cool cyclone pellet motion)
x2 BRS 1.1ml/m dosers for use with Bionic two part
LR from marcorocks
Tropic Eden reef sand (50/50 split between reeflakes and miniflakes)- gotta have nice sand for my leopard wrasses :a44:

I might have forgot some stuff. If I remember something ill post it back up.

I hope I have some of my old colonies left lol. I was in Peru doing research for the past two months and the 60's skimmer mishap occurred in the middle of my trip. I had a local come over and help my fiance take down the tank and he is looking after my colonies in his tanks while I get mine set back up. I just got back, so I haven't been over to his place to check them out, but I am expecting a high casualty rate :( Most of my fish didn't make it either.

Tank is ordered! I can't wait to get it. Tank is a 24x24x16 rimless with a corner overflow with three holes drilled in the bottom of the glass, x2 1'' and x1 3/4''. It is being build by LeeMar. I should have it in 2-3 weeks. I guess they are backed up quite a bit over there.

If you don't mind I would like to know as well, I got quoted for 24x24x12 three sides starphire glass for 250 from a local shop.

Pics of the DIY stand a buddy of mine is helping me build. Dimensions are 25x25x36. Some might say it's overkill, but I am happy knowing that water nor the weight of the tank will effect the integrity of the stand. Next step is to get some plywood, skin it, stain outside and paint inside with latex paint, and then seal it.

Great progress on the stand. looks like a mini fridge. Are you going to paint the inside or leave it alone for visibility?
