I will be switching over to Arm & Hammer to dose my alk. For those of you that use it, do you mix it with RO/DI or spoon it straight in. I have read of people doing both.
You can bake it to drive out the CO2 and that will help raise your ph. I don't bake since I don't have a low ph issue but I dissolve it in my top off and let it drip in. I'm more cautious with alk levels
I make a gallon at a time with rodi water, 2 1/2 cup or small box of arm & hammer baked at 350 for an hour to remove the co2. By doing so becomes soda ash and increases your ph as its dosed it, so I dose my alk at night to help balance ph.
