Aren't air stones notorious for clogging regularly? Seems to me tat this design will require more frequent maintenance.

Probly so but it should be no harder then cleaning a regular skimmer pump that should be cleaned on a regular basis anyways

I would rather change or clean an airstone than replace an expensive impeller. My concern with any high end skimmer is the cost of impeller replacement and the availability of parts. The airstone is an interesting option.

One other thing to consider is the noise from the air pump. Probably not a big issue but something to consider.

Looks cool but it is the mini version and doubt they will make a larger model but i could be wrong. The air stone does seem that it will require more maintenance to clean or replace but not a big deal. Also migyht be gravity fed, talk about low wattage consumption lol
