Top level sealant and clear coat going on the stand tomorrow. Then I can put the tank up on it and plumb the overflow to do the leak test. Since this tank was used I was planning on a week long leak test. Can't ever be too safe..

Good to know but I've already bought the newer style. Thank you though.

Moved!

Thanks to a few local SCV reefers (and a neighbor).

Built up the door frames cause evidentially the original hinges aren't made anymore. Bad rust on the existing ones. I was asked at Home Depot if I was working on an antique ha!

LOL, those are the same ones I have on my stand... a few look almost as bad too...

Slowly filling. Going with about a 50/50 ratio between new water and water from my other tank. Hopefully this will help with the cycle.

Are you using your old sump? It's gonna be nice with no overflow in the middle. What are your aquascape plans?

I'm planning on using my existing sump but will probably upgrade down the road. I think a 60 gal would be better suited. And I have some nylon rods and mortar I got from marco rocks to get creative with the new scape. I'm using this as inspiration.

Here goes step 1 in the rock structure build. Any feedback or tips? I kinda think it's a little, mmm, manufactured looking?

Just stacked up for now, mocking up what I have in my head with what I have to work with....

Nice structure. Did you go with just rods? Or did you cement as well? I'm going the same route but wondering if I can get away with just rods if the holes are tight enough.
