Did you do a straight transfer or you waited for a cycle?

I took all the water I had from my 100 and filled the 150. From there it was all new sw. I tried doing it the old fashioned way but saw crazy nitrites during the cycle. I never see nitrites! So I drained it and did it this way and saw no cycle.

O awesome because I'm going to upgrade my 30 into a 60 and I would love to do a transfers instead of waiting for cycling

I think if you get a better than half amount of good or cycled water in there then you won't see a cycle. I even used a new sand bed, brand new, I wanted black sand so I do didn't use my up existing white "live" sand.
