So I traded a 27 gallon Marineland cube from petsmart for a complete cardiff 24 gallon with the 150 watt mh dome style light.

Wasn't using the Marineland cube and not sure what to do with this cardiff so looking for guidance. Particularly in mousing up the filtration to be more efficient.

It's pretty much the same setup as the Solana tank, which was also made by Current USA so you may have a better shot searching for that instead. Best possible filtration or nutrient export given the limited amount of space in the back aside from the stock equipment is the inTank media basket and the Tunze 9002 skimmer. I actually had both spare at one point for just in case situation but sold the Tunze 9002 because I'm upgrading so no longer need spare parts. Still have the brand new inTank media basket that I got as spare. If you decide to get the Tunze 9002 skimmer, you may have to mod the magnet location to make it fit in chamber 1 and do the airline mod to make it easier to adjust dry/wet skim. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of getting a Tunze skimmer and doing a fuge but wanted some guidance and input first.

Feel free to PM if you have any questions on it.

You can use the 2nd chamber as a fuge. I use that for all the media stuff and chaeto with the jbj nano glo in the back.

The problem is that the Cardiff 24g stand has no doors. You would have to make another stand if you want door for access to the sump area if you go that route.

Thought about cutting open the stand as well but ultimately decided against it as I don't feel comfortable drilling the cardiff and don't want to run an hob overflow
