I look for a light with good spread for the size of tank I have, Wi-Fi, and a light that I can control the various led nodes. I dont always get all of that but thats generally what I look for. I have reef breeders photon v2 on my 56 gallon tank, an AI prime HD (my favorite) on my 30 gallon cube, and a cheap no frills wave point hooked up to a plug timer over my 3 gallon. All seem to do an okay job, but the AI performs the best imo.

If heat and energy cost wasn’t an issue I would go MH (Radium 250w) w/ ab+ t5

I agree with mchava
I got the best growth with my 2 400 watt radiums. This time I’m going over kill on my new 20 gallon shallow DT, and putting a kessil 360x over it.

Metal halide & t5 combo all day. The best setup. Nothing like that metal halide glisten across your coral.
