I was browsing the LiveAquaria WYSIWYG section and came across some deep water fish. A few weeks ago I was watching "Fish Tank Kings" on National Geographic and there was someone from a national aquarium who wanted some deep water fish for his exhibit. They had to dive deep, in upwards of 1,000 feet, to collect the fish he was looking for. Apparently LiveAquaria has them. Of course they cost about $1,000 so I doubt I'll take the plunge. Seems like a pretty good deal considering they had to collect them using a submarine and then transport them higher up and leave them for a period of time to adjust before divers went in and grabbed them. Has anyone tried such a fish? I doubt they live that long. Even if you kept it alive for for a few years you're still looking at $300/year. Maybe it's worth it for the bragging rights alone!

I believe Red Med has that candy
Basslet. I've only kept a Borbonius but I think they are only 100-150 meters but are considered deep water. Issue with these fish is if the diver was careful the swim blatter will be good. If not then you have a fish that will sideways or upside down and eventually will die.
