I replaced all 4 filters (.5 sediment, aim membrane and 2 gac filters) and filled up my di resin.

I got about 50 gallons before the resin changed colors.

My tds meter shows about 5 tds after the exhausted di resin

Water coming is about 250 tds, and the membrane is 98 percent rejection. So 5 tds is correct with no di resin.

55 gallons and the di is exhausted? Curious what other people get.

I added a picture of my di container. I added a bar of soap for size.

I notice that bulk reef supply had a bigger container. Perhaps what I'm getting is right for the container size?

Thanks for any input!

I use 20" di canister but i change my resin every 6 months. Water comes out pre di canister at 1ppm and of course comes out at 0 post di. There are alot of other reasons why your di will exaust fast, high co2 will exaust it fast as well , not to mention if you have high tds coming from your unit.

I had a long conversation with the filter guys about this... It all depends on your water supplier and the amount of chloramine, ph level and other factors in your water. I have low ph and the chloramine is high so I get about 300 gallons per DI filter. You can get the media for the DI filter and just change that out rather than buying a new filter. Cheaper way to go.

I'd say that's about right for a DI chamber that size. I used to have a purewaterclub unit with the horizontal chambers and I would get about 100g or so out of them. So many factors change your DI performance.

yeah you should check the TDS coming out of the membrane. should be no more than 10. if its over either your membrane is done or your filters are extremely dirty. and your DI stage is really small. you need a really large canister either the 10" or if not the 20"

Xxtechxx speaks truth. I hope you don't have Golden state water co. They are disgusting and use large amounts of chemicals to control water quality. My water tds changes monthly, it's rubbish. I don't like the brs DI resin seems to last a lot less longer.

I ended up buying a big blue for the entire house and a water softener so the filters don't work as hard. Maybe I just think I'm up on my game.

maybe you dont have carbon filters and the chlorine ate your RO membrain up and now dirty water comes through at a too high of a rate? you need carbon before the Ro part to prevent damage to membrain. most people have the carbon sediment block.

Thanks for everyone's reply...

I just replaced 2 carbon blocks, 1 .5 sediment filter and the membrane all at once.

The canisters are labeled so I know I did not place them in the wrong order.

I water softener runs in front of my rodi as well.

I am using brs resin and my water company is jurupa (eastvale, ca).

I'll try getting a bigger di container. The one I have holds about 1.5 cups about. Not much.

@wickedfish I sent you a pm about t5 bulbs. Reply when you have a chance if you don't mind.

I haven't placed em in yet that's why I haven't replied man. I have great color on the few pieces I have. I don't wanna mess with it right now.

I bought a geismann midday bulb which goes in the middle in place of the AB special. I did not like the GE 6500. We will see how this geismann does.

Let you know the firing order on the new ones, when I install em.

You should get the 0.5 sediment and 0.5 micron Carbon filters. Mine is last couple months now when I use those filters. Its still showing 0 on both TDS inline meter and portable meter.
