a buddie and i are gonna be building a new sump.. the front is gonna be a display refuge with the back being black acrylic to hide the pumps, skimmer etc. in the skimmer section (1) will be were the water drains too from the display, there will also be a pump in the same section to feed the refuge which will drain into the return section (2). From the return pump there will be a T off to return some of the water back into the drain section (1)..
Another idea we have is too cancel the pump that will feed the fuge, flip the bulk head on the right side with the drain slots on the left, and have the Return pump T off to feed the refuge..
Any thoughts...

I could have it T off into the bulkhead so I don't have pipe running over the top. I will drop the drain pipe below the back of the refuge wall and T it off into a threaded bulkhead to feed the refuge. I will use a threaded bulkhead so I can try different set ups to see. What works the best for me. Good idea Wiener man.

By the way where is your Wienerschnitzel located at?

where will this sump be located. how conveinient will the skimmer be to access. I ask because I have another 15g section behind my refugium and its hard to access so i chose to cut it off completely.

The sump will be located right underneath the tank in the stand. As far as access, the stand I'm having built will have three access points one in the front and one on each side. So I don't see access to the skimmers or pump being any sort of problem. The side access panels on the stand will actually be the width of the stand itself
