Looking to add garlic to my fish food and was wondering if it's best to just crush garlic to extract the liquid. Don't see the reason to spend money on extract when I can do it myself. Am I wrong? Anyone do it this way?

I do. I run a couple heads through a mincer, then steep in hot water for a few minutes and strain. Makes about 4oz and lasts about 2-3 months.

Even simpler, just press 3-4 head thru the garlic press, put in some RODI water. Just replenish with RODI when needed. Just put your food in a little of this and you're good to go. No need to strain or steep as bits of garlic are good for the fish. My fish dig it and it is great for their immune system. I have been doing this for 10 years and never had ich or any parasites for that matter. Good luck

Thanks for the input. Will definitely go this route.
