I think your reaction is a bit over the top Twomuch24004... he didn't name you publicly, and the pump does not work so I don't see your post being warranted.

not testing something for that long, and then finding out it doesn't work, and then blaming it on the seller, is a bit of a stretch though. maybe it was broken when sold, maybe not, but it really should have been verified at the time of sale, or very shortly thereafter.

i bought that ozone generator thing from James several months back. haven't plugged it in. If it doesn't work, i wouldn't blame him for it.

No fire works I just don't see a reason to state false information. I could send the video that shows the water moving in my tank. Yet if someone goes out of their way to open the pump to check four rust behind the pump I think they would rush home and place the pumps into their tank that was up and running to insure their drive was for nothing.not wait 15 days then send an email asking to reimburse them $50 so they can purchase a new plug.makes no sense to me. Then try to go on a rant about it

I'm not choosing sides, its just he did remind people to check items when they purchase which isn't a bad thing and is good advice in any case. And nobody here knows how they've responded to each other privately.

That does suck but ultimately that is the risk you take when buying used. Things can happen at any time, like someone else said in transit, left in a hot place, anything can happen after the fact for sure.

I just like to clear any miss understanding thats all if some 1 takes a indirect shot at you why not, clear it up. That's why my post was warranted,I don't work like that. I myself would have just bought a plug if it took me that long to sip call check if it worked. I wouldn't attack a reefer because I wouldn't be sure if that was the case

I can post your video, you show one of the controllers only. (One controller /power supply combo does work-I don't have an issue w that) you don't show the other controller in the vid at all. Please don't insult our intelligence w that, since there is no way to id which pump was working or even if the pumps were the ones you traded me since you fail to show both controllers working /serial numbers in the vid.
As far as the other questions go why I waited 12 days to mention it is: I am in the middle of a move. I have a 1 year old. So I had a lot on my plate and the mp40s were on going on the 300 which was set up only last night. I didn't turn them on earlier because they were packed away in a box.
It's true I asked about the condition of the magnets, although I also took your word on that because one of the wet sides ended up being glued together. I agree that it's partially my fault that I didn't check it before. 50$ isn't worth the effort to defraud you .
I have done quite a bit of selling here and on rc and basically it's called benefit of the doubt. It's something I gave you and it's costing me a new power supply
Ps I didn't call you out, but since you chose to bring yourself into it, I would warn people to be careful. I will get past the personal insults since you actually have no real factual basis to your argument other than you caught me slippin

I stand by david. He sent a very calm toned message to the guy, seeking to find a way to resolve it, and the guy started firing back. This is usually an indication of guilt.

Agreed!

I thought this thread was just a helpful reminder about buying used equipment, didn't think the guy who ripped him off would show up!

I was going to chalk it up to a bad coincidence. I did pm him w a very cordial request for working something out. However I was met a hostility which makes me feel like this was a known issue.
We have all had issues in buying and selling if you do enough of it. It's how you handle these issues that show the type of character you have. It seems that Chris choses a different way from most

I trying to understand why would I pay you for a product that was working when it left my house. And then to make it worst you waiting 15 days to bring to my attention that it does not work. You say you didn't have a tank set up yet the 180 gallon was sitting right their in your living room doesn't make sense. Bro I really don't think your telling the truth. That's why I wouldn't pay you. I've never seen someone that goes over and beyond to make sure the pumps have no rust to just say, I'm going to what weeks till I try it out

Btw if I was trying to hide something I wouldn't have said it was me that sold you the item I would have stayed free and clear of the situation. But like I said earlier I tend to like to go a the issue not beat around it. I took it as a shot at my integrity. I know when I sell something I like to know that it works if not I'll throw it away. I don't have time for bs. And if you know me then you know I really don't
